Elizabeth (Liz) Alexander O'Shea passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 9, 2022. Liz was born in Pickens County, AL on July 22, 1933. Her family moved to Mobile, AL during WWII so her parents could work with the Air Force's war effort. She graduated from Murphy High School and then began her long Civil Service career with the Air Force at Brookley Field in Mobile and then Eglin Air Force Base in Fort Walton Beach, FL, where she completed a distinguished Civil Service career in 1988. Liz was a charter member and Past President of the Fort Walton Beach American Business Women's Association. She participated in many organizations throughout her life and when she returned to Mobile in 2006, was active in her Home Owners Association at Somerby. Liz loved antiques, growing flowers and traveling. One of her favorite spots to travel was her time share in North Carolina where she spent many vacations and loved hosting family. She was a beautiful, charming, smart, poised Southern lady who will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren for her red velvet cake. She was a best friend to her sister Ann, a wonderful Mother, Aunt, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Elizabeth was pre-deceased by her parents, William and Vera Alexander, sister Sarah Kirk, daughter Patricia Arnold, and husband Vernon O'Shea. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Bill Burnham of Mobile, AL; Daughters, Pamela (James) Green of Valparaiso, Florida and Paula (John) Thoreen of Houston, Texas; son, Phillip (Kelly) O'Shea of Destin, Florida; and Grandchildren, Stacy Scharer, Christopher O'Shea, Kelly Lopez, Johnathan Arnold, James Thoreen, Paige O'Shea Waterfield, and Dylan O'Shea; Great Grandchildren, Aiden Arnold, Anastasia and James Tatom-Scharer, Charles and Charlotte O'Shea, Lila and Payton Waterfield, and Isabella and Mateo Lopez. The family greatly appreciates her caregivers and hospice for all their compassion.

A visitation for Elizabeth will be held Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Radney Funeral Home-Mobile, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Alabama 36606. Following the visitation will be a funeral service at 12:00 PM at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Alabama 36606. Burial will be held in Mobile Memorial Gardens, Mobile, AL.
