Sabre Atkins Hicks, born in Gordo Alabama on July 2, 1940, and a resident of Mobile Alabama for over 75 years, departed from this mortal world on Friday, May 27th, 2022, at age 81. She was a loving and devoted wife, and Mother. She had several successful careers which included hairstylist, realtor and business owner. Our Mom loved home making, sewing, cooking and baking, gardening, a good fire, strawberries, everything about the beach, music, memories, good times and good friends, holly trees and everything Christmas. Mostly our mom loved us, she dedicated her life to her children. She was our mom, confidant, teacher and our best friend. We are better for having known and loved her and are shattered by her passing. She will be dearly missed by so many family, friends and people she touched.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Austin Hicks Sr.; daughter, Jennifer Diane Hicks, father Robert Franklin Atkins Jr.; mother, Edna Earl Kirk Atkins; and brother, Robert Franklin Atkins III. She is survived by her two sons Gene A. Hicks Jr. and Shaun A. Hicks (Kelley), and brother Jerome Earl Atkins, three grandsons, three great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Terry Pierce, Jason Hicks, Joshua Atkins, Mark Chandler, Thad Scott, Michael Mclaney.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 10:00 AM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
