Charlesine McConnell McFerrin

July 12, 1931 ~ October 11, 2022 (age 91)
Charlesine McConnell McFerrin born July 12, 1931, died October 11, 2022 Charlesine was born in Mobile AL. to Lottie Roberts McConnell and Jesse Horace McConnell, and was raised with sisters Alberta and Jerri. Following graduation from Murphy High School and a brief stint in business college, she married John C. McFerrin and they began life together near both of their families in Mobile. Charlesine was a family person first and foremost. Her primary commitment was to her children and later grandchildren, her parents and siblings, and John C.'s family, who she loved as her own. She taught her family that God instituted the home before the church, that the Bible is a blueprint for living, and that kindness is always proper. She was a woman ahead of her time, involved in business and politics at a time when most women were not. She was chairwoman of the Mobile County Board of Registrars, a business entrepreneur, taught Sunday School, and was active in the church. Whether it was directing Bible school, planning an event for hundreds, or managing a construction project, she was more than capable. Her home was always open, and all in her circle were welcome for a meal, a week , or months if needed. We never knew whether our dinner table would include a visiting preacher, a senator, or a stranger that Daddy brought home. All were treated equally and sat at the kitchen table where she expected us every night. She converted strangers into friends, and friends into family. Her legacy is her children, daughters Pam Law (Joe) and Hope McFadden (Frank), grandchildren Joseph (Mary Catherine) and Johnathon Law (Beth), Anna McFadden Campbell (Adam) and Franklin McFadden, and great grandchildren Lillie, Kakki, Virginia, Roberts and Annie Law, and Benjamin Campbell, and other family members.
