R.G. Tanner was born March 27, 1927, in Choctaw County, Alabama. He passed on Thanksgiving day November 24th, 2022 at 2:30 A.M. He was preceded in death by his wife, Corliss Campbell Tanner; his parents, Herbert and Sally Tanner; one sister and two brothers. He retired from International Paper Company where he was employed for 38 years. He is survived by his four children, Cullen, Belinda (Tom Long), Steven (Janet) and Elise Tanner. Robert had five grandchildren, Andrew Kettler (Kelly), Tanner Long, Meghan Underwood, Tommy Long Jr. and Latease Drawdy. He enjoyed his great-grandchildren, Payten Watson Kettler, Mason McKennon, Aria Underwood, and Jud Long. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, riding and working with his tractor and spending time with family and friends especially around the Mobile Bay area.

Visitation will take place Sunday November 27th, from 6 PM until 8 PM at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland, Alabama. Interment will be Monday morning at 10 AM, November 28th, 2022, at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
