Michael Angelo Guarino, of Mobile, Alabama passed away peacefully on Friday, December 16, 2022, surrounded by his family at the age of 94. He was born on April 26, 1928, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to the late Joseph Michael Guarino, Sr. and Leah Pauline Savarino Guarino. He served in the Army in WWII as a military police officer in the European Theatre stationed in Germany. After his service he went on to become an architectural engineer and later earned post-baccalaureate degrees in public works and parapsychology. He married the love of his life, Teresa DiGiulio on August 11, 1951. Michael was a devout Catholic and a member of St Dominic’s Catholic church. He lived his life as a caring husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a friend to every person he met and had a special way to light up the room when he entered. He was proud of his Italian heritage, appreciated their culture and fine Italian cuisine and was a member of the Italian American club. He was an avid gardener and had a deep love for all animals. Michael was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife; Teresa Paulette DiGiulio Guarino, his sister Sylvia Guarino Pasquarella (Frank), and one brother; Joseph Michael Guarino, Jr. Left to cherish Michael’s wonderful memories will be his beloved children: two daughters: Lea Guarino Molyneux (Mike), Sylvia Guarino Clements (Robert), one son; Joseph Paul Guarino (Lisa), two brothers: Angelo Charles Guarino, Dr. Charles Joseph Guarino (Glenda), four grandchildren: Michelle Molyneux Monckton (Evan), Jessica Molyneux Bruer, Michael Gregory Molyneux, Jr. (Maury), Caroline ”Grace” Molyneux, six great-grandchildren: Lea Gregory Monckton, Wells Michael Monckton, Anne Louise Monckton, Ward Thomas Monckton, Michael Gregory Molyneux III, Wyatt Nicholas Bruer, with one addition on the way, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends. A visitation for Michael will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 4156 Burma Road, Mobile, Alabama 36693, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 6100 Three Notch Road, Mobile, Alabama. Honoring Michael as pallbearers will be Michael Gregory Molyneux, Jr., Paul Simms, Doug McDonald, Chip Monk, Jamey Purvis, Keith Alvis, Filippo Milone, Memorials may be made in honor of Michael Angelo Guarino to St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, 4156 Burma Road, Mobile, Alabama, 36693.
