Mr. Robert E. "Bobby" Chadwell, age 89, longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents Floyd E. and Mary Till Chadwell, brother Benny Chadwell, and sisters Carole Chadwell Smith and Elaine Chadwell Nelson (Robert).
Mr. Chadwell is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Doris Hester Chadwell, sister Glenda Chadwell Little (Jim), and children; Debra Chadwell Parker (Mason), Teresa Chadwell Estes (Mike), Stephen Wayne Chadwell (Tracy), Michael Eugene Chadwell (Rebecca). He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
Bobby was the former owner and operator of Spring Hill Shoe and Luggage Repair for 48 years. He was an active and longtime member of Springhill Baptist Church. He was an avid freshwater fisherman, known as the Mayor of Briar Creek and affectionately called Big Bob Bass by many. He also enjoyed playing and coaching baseball throughout the years.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Medical Staff of Springhill Memorial Hospital for their exceptional care of Bobby.
Pallbearers will be Jay Oberkirch, Benton Oberkirch, Bryar Oberkirch, Trevor Chadwell, Bryce Parker, and John Davis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Little, Tim Parker, and Willie Shinn.

Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home-Mobile (Dauphin St.) on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held in the Oakley Chapel of the funeral home beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
