Carol Jean Anderson McAllister was reunited with her loving husband of 63 years on April 23, 2023. Carol was born on October 03, 1938 in Saltville, Virginia and has been a resident of Mobile, Alabama for over 40 years. She was a devoted mother, loving grandmother and great-grandmother, and an avid bridge player.
Carol was an alumnus of Athens State University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Education. She spent majority of her professional career as an Instructor at Bishop State Community College, where she was named Division Chair and also nominated for Outstanding Teacher in the Post-Secondary College System. Upon retiring from Bishop State, she served as the Cosmetology Program Director at Capps (Forvis) College and on various accreditation review committees for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) as well as with the Alabama Board of Cosmetology.
She was a long-time member of Christ United Methodist Church, a member of the Alabama Educators Association, and a former member of the Mobile Square Dance Association.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Haskell "Buddy" Lee McAllister; parents, Eugene Elmore Anderson (Lucille); brother, Thomas Allen Anderson; grandparents, Joel Allen Anderson (Cora), Thomas Buchanan, and Mary Ellen Call. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Lee McAllister (Eliese); two granddaughters, Brittney Lee McAllister and Valerie McAllister Thames (Rob); two great-grandsons, Ryland Lee Thames and Beau Robinson Thames; brother, David Coleman Anderson (Glenna); sister-in-laws, Rita McAllister Davidson and Eunice McAllister; several nieces and nephews in North Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee; and her beloved five-month-old toy poodle, Joy.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 27th at Mobile Memorial Gardens Chapel. The chapel will be open for visitation with the family at 10:00 with a service to follow immediately at 11:00.
Lived next door to Buddy, Carol and Jeff in Saltville Virginia in the 1960’s. Sweet family. Condolences to Jeff and his family.
