Melvin Clayton (Clay) Richardson, Jr. passed away peacefully with loved ones at his side on Sunday June 4th, 2023 at the age of 83. Clay was welcomed onto this earth on July 6, 1939, and the world became a brighter place for it. He is survived by his wife, Judy Farmer Richardson and children Trey (Wanda) Richardson of Pleasant Grove, AL., Kaye (David) Culp of Centreville, AL., Cheryl (Micheal) Tritch of Mobile, AL., and stepson Scott (Jackie) of Centreville, AL. as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends.
Clay was born and raised in the Mobile area where he graduated from Vigor High School. He went on to attend Auburn University graduating with a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering. After college, he entered the military and retired as a captain in the Air Force. Following his military career, he worked as an industrial engineer, realtor, and entrepreneur, and finished his career life as a City Councilman and writer for an outdoor and wildlife publication. Clay was a proud veteran and an active member of the American Legion as well as a respected member of West Blocton First Baptist.

Services will be held Wednesday, June 7th 2023 at Mobile Memorial Gardens with visitation from 12-1pm with funeral services to follow. All are invited to celebrate his life and legacy.
