BENNIE CARROL HOWARD, age 85, a resident of Mobile since 1957, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2023, surrounded by a very loving family.
Bennie was a proud member of The Freemasons who achieved the Thirty Two degree rank. He was a member of George U Potter #912; Past Master of of Azelea #898 and Chickasaw #894. He earned Grand Lodge Certificate of Proficiency. He also served as District Lecturer for Districts 32 and 44. Mr. Howard received the 50 year service pin in 2020, of which he was very blessed and proud to receive. He was also a member of the Sojourners Organization in Mobile County.
After almost 43 years with CSX Railroad he retired and enjoyed spending time giving back to his community. As a member of the ABBA Temple, he
was proud to be able to work with the children who needed transportation for care at the Shriners Hospitals in Galveston and Shreveport. Bennie was also an avid Bama football fan.
Mr. Howard is survived by his only son, Bennie, Daughter-in-Law (Tracey aka Angel), Mobile, Al, brother Ed Howard (Joyce), sister Melba Howard Schmidt (Gary) nephews Ed and Jeff Howard, all from Sarasota, Fl., and grandsons, Ricky and Matt Arguello (Shauna), Mobile, Al.
Bennie will be fondly remembered for his beaming smile and his love and appreciation of family

A Masonic service will be held to celebrate the life of Mr. Howard on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 6040 Three Notch Road, Mobile, Al. 36619. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm with service following.
