Patsy Almena Emerson Wooley, Age 91, passed away and was welcomed into Heaven on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.
She loved Jesus Christ and loved serving her family and friends. She was a charter member of Azalea Baptist Church and a member of Woodridge Baptist Church. She had a beautiful alto voice that she used in the church choir. She loved to decorate and serve Jesus Christ by being the church hostess at Azalea Baptist Church. She planned many church dinners and banquets for every season. Decorating extended to her home as well. Friends will remember the great meals served in her home, especially the seafood. She made sure her children were ready to go to church every Sunday. She was a true homemaker in every sense of the word, preparing meals and clothing for her fourteen children. She loved to crochet and made many Afghans for her family.
On November 27, 1959, she married Samuel O. Wooley, Jr. combining their two families with a total of 10 children all under the age of 11, later they had 4 more children. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Samuel O. Wooley, Jr., her parents, Martin and Ella Emerson; granddaughter, Lacie Wooley; children, Rebecca Pound, Randy Wooley, Dr. Cynthia Lozier, Laura Ewing; grandsons, Chad Swingle and Joshua Lozier.
Survivors to cherish her memories are Mary “Knox” Tinnea, Julie Stein, Penelope “Penny” Pound, Samuel Oliphant “Ollie” (Marty Ann) Wooley III, Cynthia (Don) Smith, Candice Lanier, Lisa (Randy) Moris, Kimberley Clark, Samuel “Sambo” (Kassy) Wooley and Marcus Wooley; 33 grandchildren and 47 great -grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Enhabit Hospice for all of their help. Funeral Service will be held from the Chapel of Serenity Funeral Home on Monday, July 10, 2023 at 1:00pm. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the service time. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
