Carolyn Andrews departed from this world on August 23rd, 2023, leaving behind a
legacy that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to
know her. Carolyn's life was a testament to love, compassion, and unwavering
dedication to her family.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Everette
Hastings and Melda Lizetta Phillips Hastings. Born on September 22nd, 1942, Carolyn
embraced life with an open heart and a radiant spirit. From an early age, she exuded a
natural warmth that drew people towards her, forging connections that would last a
lifetime. She is survived by her 3 sisters, Louise Givens (Leonard), Ellie Owen and Eva
Walden (Tim).
On May 2nd, 1964, Carolyn united her life with Charles Andrews Jr. in a bond that would
stand as a shining example of enduring love. Their 59 year journey together was one
marked by partnership, understanding, and a deep companionship that weathered the
tests of time. Carolyn’s survivors include her husband Charles Andrews Jr., her 4
children Angela Nieland (Charles), Karen Henn (Jeff), Charles Andrews III (Olivia), and
Christopher Andrews (Sandy) and her 12 grandchildren Jessica Nieland (Deliliah), Jennifer
Nieland, Matthew Nieland, Andrew Nieland, Kayla Henn, Alexander Henn, Gavin Henn, Austin
Henn, Charlie Andrews, Aeda Andrews, Christopher Andrews and Jacob Andrews. As a
mother and grandmother, she poured her heart and soul into raising them with
unwavering love and guidance. Her nurturing spirit and unconditional love were evident
in every aspect of their lives. Her legacy of compassion and empathy will undoubtedly
shape the paths her children and their families tread.
Beyond her role as a mother, Carolyn had a way of making everyone feel heard and
valued, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Carolyn's departure
leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her memory will continue to shine brightly.
The life of Carolyn Andrews serves as a reminder that a life lived with love is a life
well-lived

A Mass of Christian Burial to honor Carolyn's life will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church on August 28th, 2023 at noon. Visitation will begin at 11am. A graveside service will immediately follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
