Joe Marx Nicholson
January 8, 1943 - November 11, 2023
Marx Nicholson, 80 years old, of Mobile, Alabama stepped into eternity on Saturday November 11th. He was born to William Marx Nicholson and Virginia Nicholson on January 8th 1943.
Marx was an incredible husband and loving father. He was very active in his church and Sunday school class. He leaves an amazing legacy of touching lives through teaching Sunday school and coaching basketball in the Mobile area for decades. He retired from the state docks after 40 years of service. He had a passion for Jesus, his family and Auburn football. Marx married his beautiful bride and best friend, Elaine Ferguson, on January 30th, 1966.
They had two children together, Keith and Kellie, who he loved dearly.
He is preceeded in death by father, William Marx Nicholson and mother, Virginia Nicholson.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elaine Nicholson, sister Mary Sikes (Ernest), son Keith Nicholson (Sheri), daughter Kellie Knight (Aaron), grandchildren Victoria Hall (Ethan), Meredith Nicholson, Emily Wigley, Madelyn Wigley, great grandchildren, Bennett Marx Nicholson and Theodore Hall.

A celebration of life will be held at Luke 4:18 Church on Tuesday November 14th. 9:15 a.m. visitation and 10 a.m. service. Graveside following at Mobile Memorial Gardens. Pastor David Bullock officiating.
Sorry for your loss Elaine and family. I can understand how hard this is for y’all. We lost our son in law last week. I won’t be able to come to the funera, but my thoughts and prayers are with you..

Ionly found about my good friend Marx passing last night. I am so sorry as this world lost a great and will be missed by everyone whose life was better because the knew this great man.
