Early Friday morning, November 17, 2023, at the age of 81, Joann Saxon Evans was welcomed home by our Lord and Savior. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family. She is now again in the arms of her beloved husband of 45 years, Hugh, who preceded her in death. She is once again embracing her mother, Marion Moody Saxon, and father, Charles Patrick, and brothers, Charles Patrick Jr., and John Franklin.
Joann was Mother to Ann Marie Purvis, (John) and David Hugh Evans, (Deborah), Grandmother to Angie, Jeff, and Holly, great grandmother to Evan and Jackson.
Joann was a graduate of Toolen High School and a registered nurse for 45 years and only retired so she could spend more time with her grandchildren. Among her passions were Alabama football but her greatest enjoyment was always being around her family. Among the things she enjoyed most were weekend excursions with her Husband, Hugh and attending Little Flower Catholic Church where she was a lifelong member.

A graveside service will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 2:00 pm. Those attending are asked to meet in the parking lot between the funeral home and cemetery at 1:30 pm to line up for the funeral procession.
