Betty was born in Cullman, AL, on May 9, 1930 to Josiah Curtis and Mildred Yeager Keller. After graduating from Murphy High School and Mobile Business College, she worked as a telephone switch board operator for Bell Telephone Company and Delaney's Department Store. After the birth of her child, she dedicated her life to being a homemaker. Betty was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church since 1957, where she taught Sunday School for 56 years and sang in the adult choir since 1961. One of her greatest joys was being a grandmother and a great grandmother. She also enjoyed writing poetry and painting with watercolor. Betty loved getting to know the blind college students she met while verbally recording their textbooks. Betty is survived by her husband of 71 years, C. Kenneth Burroughs; daughter, Gina Burroughs (Ronald) Stringfellow; grandson, Justin Lee (Emily) Stringfellow; great grandchildren, Walker, Rhett, and Eleanor Stringfellow of Elmore, Alabama; granddaughter, Katie Stringfellow (David) Talbert, and great grandchildren, Cole, Wade, and Claire Talbert of Apex, NC. Nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Her family will honor her memory with a graveside service on Friday December 8, 2023 at Mobile Memorial Gardens (6100 Three Notch Road) at 9:00 am followed by a memorial service at 11:30 am at Spring Hill Baptist Church (2 South McGregor Ave) with Dr. Ben Stubblefield officiating. Her family will receive friends at 10:30 am on Friday December 8.
