In loving memory of James Ronald Casey, 80, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at his residence in Daphne, AL. Ron was born on February 13, 1943, in Fontana Dam, NC, to the late James Erbie Casey and late Willia Mae Casey. He graduated from Murphy High School in 1961, where he developed his love of horses - training, riding and rodeoing for years. After serving his time with the National Guard, Ron spent his career in sales and management in the electrical supply business.
A hard-working man, Ron loved staying busy, at all times with a home project in the works. Yet, he always made time for his family, whether it was taking his girls to the river to water ski, hauling a load of gear to the beach for his grandchildren, or exploring the Gulf Coast with the love of his life. His passion for riding horses evolved into riding motorcycles, particularly Harley Davidsons. He was a loving husband, brother, father and grandfather, and his family will forever love him.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Sherry Casey; children Kim (Jim) Coleman of Memphis, TN and Kelly (Jeff) Auten of Little Rock, AR; brother Gene (Zella) Casey of Pace, FL; sister-in-law Pam Casey of Mobile, AL; grandchildren Jake, Karis, Ella and Hunter.
He was preceded in death by his brother Tom “Smiley” Casey of Mobile, AL; grandson Aaron.
He will also be missed by his nieces, nephews and friends.
Ride off into that great sunset, sweet Ron.
