Tommie Diane Bunton, born in Jackson, AL and native of Mobile, AL was called to join her father in his kingdom on January 9, 2024. Born October 11, 1957, Diane was one of 11 children. She attended Toulminville High School. While raising three daughters she earned an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts. After earning her degree Diane worked as a chef at Mobile School of Math and Science. Diane wore many hats; she was a devoted mother, grandmother great-grandmother, sister, friend, chef and singer. She touched many people lives through her God given talent of cooking and singing. For many years Diane sang as a member of the Greater Macedonia Baptist Church Gospel Choir. She became a member of the Inspirational Singers quartet group in the 1980’s. During her tenure in the group she toured the southeastern region performing, and recorded a CD. She also had a small home based business catering events such as baby showers and birthday parties. After she stopped catering she continued sharing her recipes with her daughters and grandchildren. Diane was preceded in death by Mother, Irene Calhoun, Father, Thomas Bunton, Daughter, Tomeka Bunton, Siblings Herbert Figare, Lawrence Smith, Evelyn Smith, Joyce Figare. She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Tiki Bunton (Racine, WI), and Tierra Bunton (Mobile, AL). Siblings from oldest to youngest Barbara Carter (San Bernadino, CA), Carlotte Robinson (Ernest) from Mobile, AL, Cynthia Davis, Terry Smith (Gloria) from Mobile, AL, Sherell Figare (Conway, AR), Lucy Simon (Conway, AR); eight grandchildren, Jasmine McCovery, Chelsia James, James Clemons III, Mya Williams, Marcus Love, Randy Terrell , Dallace King, and Solomon Griffin Jr; nine great-grandchildren Caison Singleton, Skylar Howell, James Clemons IV, Jeffrey Manley, Denim McCovery, Milani Howell, Dream Jones, Raiden Terrell, Mazi Howell and a host of family and friends.
