Eva Dugat - Mobile Memorial Gardens

Eva Dugat

June 22, 1938 — February 1, 2024
She was born as Eva Louise Clements, but was known as "DeeDee." To her six children, she was "Mama." To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was "Nannie." On February 1st, 2024, she passed peacefully into God's glory surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 85.   On June 22, 1938, she was born the 8th of 10 children to Franklin and Alma Clements. She spent the majority of her life in Mobile County, but she also enjoyed the portion of her life residing in Texas. She was a devout Catholic and loved the Lord with all of her being. She excelled at anything she put her hands to-sewing, crocheting, knitting, cooking, canning, dancing, and sketching. Her primary passion was gardening and she was known for her beautiful rose gardens. She had such a green thumb, her second husband joked that she shouldn't be the one to bury him when he passed, because "everything she plants, blooms." As the matriarch of her large family, she loved them fiercely and unconditionally, and enjoyed spending time with them above anything else.   She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings: Net, Betty, Mae, Dottie, Donald, Frankie, Herbert, and Larry; her first husband and father of her children, Austin "Pat" Hatton; her second husband, Vince Richardson; and her third husband, John Dugat; her son, Bobby Hatton; her son-in-law Ronnie Dodd; her grandchildren: James Pearson, Charles Pearson, and Tara Trask.   She is survived by her brother, Herman Clements; her children: Bill Hatton, Debbie (Steve) Hughes, Patty Dodd, Donna (Rod) Chinnis; and Benji (Christine) Hatton; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and many nephews, nieces, friends, and members of the family by marriage.
