Cecil Henderson Parmer, 85, was born December 29, 1938, in Butler County, AL and grew up in Prichard. He was a current resident of Daphne, Alabama and passed away on February 10, 2024.
He graduated from Vigor High School in 1957, earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Southern Mississippi (1961) and a Master's in Community Counseling (1967). He was honorably discharged from the United States Army Reserve in 1964. He taught middle school math and science before serving as a Vocational Rehab Counselor in Mobile, AL. He retired from the State of Alabama in 1997 at which time he began building houses as an Alabama State licensed building contractor. He was a Gideon in Meridian, MS and Mobile, AL. He was preceded in death by his father, Kendrell Cecil Parmer; mother, Ruby Adell Copeland Parmer and sister, Doloris Parmer. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lavada Jacumin Parmer; son, Cecil “Chuck” Henderson Parmer Jr. (Mandy) of Vienna, VA; daughter, Kendra Parmer Conner (Mike); granddaughter, McKenzie Holland (Garrett) of Wingate, NC; granddaughter, Meghan Parmer of Seoul, South Korea; grandson, Zach Conner; brothers, Raymond R. Parmer (Loxley, AL) and Paul V. Parmer (Jody) of New Orleans, LA and a multitude of cousins. Active pallbearers will be Garrett Holland, John B. Howell, Harold Thomas, Raymond Parmer Jr., Wayne Parmer, Mike Conner, Zach Conner and Chuck Parmer. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Parmer, Mike Hess, Brian Hess and the Men’s Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Fairhope.Phone: 251-661-1333
