Loyd Ray Collum, 76, of Mobile, AL passed away on Friday March 1, 2024. Loyd was born on June 22, 1947 in Decatur, Alabama to Albert Joseph Collum and Ruby Brown Collum.
Loyd graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor's of Science degree. Loyd loved the outdoors, especially fishing and spending time at the beach. He was an avid Alabama football fan who loved playing bunco and going to casinos. Loyd was always willing to help others, and above all he loved his family.
Loyd was an entrepreneur. He started Southern Diagnostics, a company specializing in the sale of Radiation Oncology Equipment.
Loyd is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Collum; parents, Albert and Ruby Collum; brother, Allen Collum.
He is survived by his son, Chris (Ashley) Collum; step-daughters, Kelly (Scott) Opiela, Holly True, Felicity Tanner, and Janice Pelletier; grandchildren, Claire Collum, Lilly Collum, Davis Collum, Kalep Henley, Kendall Opiela, Cameron Opiela, Michael Pelletier, Amber Pelletier, Adam Pelletier, Ashley Pelletier, Kelsey McInerney, Holden McInerney, Jamesy McInerney; and numerous great grandchildren.

Loyd's family will celebrate his life with a funeral service on Friday March 8, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 12:00 pm.
