Harlan Taylor - Mobile Memorial Gardens

Harlan Taylor

September 15, 1925 — March 9, 2024

It is with great sadness, but greater joy, that we announce the passing of Harlan Connie Taylor from this life to his eternal home in heaven.  He passed away on March 9, 2024 peacefully in his sleep after 98 wonderful years on this earth.  He was born on September 15, 1925 in Gilbertown, Alabama to Connie Henry Taylor and Claudia Malone (Doggett) Taylor.  After graduating high school, he served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific Fleet.  Upon returning home, he attended and graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.  He worked for the Internal Revenue Service before retiring to work in the private sector.  He lived briefly in Grove Hill and Thomasville, Alabama but the remainder of his life was spent in his beloved Mobile.  He loved to travel and has visited all of the continental United States and Hawaii and Alaska.  He also traveled to many foreign countries on several continents.  His greater passions in life, however, were his family and his church.  He was a faithful servant and deacon for many years at Cottage Hill Baptist Church and Luke 4:18 Fellowship.  He was a loving and generous husband and father.  He will be remembered by all who knew him as a man of great integrity.

He was preceded in death by Ruby Jean (Singley) Taylor, his parents, and his siblings Cecil Taylor, Henry Taylor, Jewel Stanford and Hazel Stokley. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years Annette (Powell) Taylor; his children Steve Taylor (Joyce), Stephanie Casto (John) and Tim Taylor (Denise); grandchildren Chris Taylor (Sawyer), Kelsey Taylor Smith (Carson), Jessica Casto Wilson (Sam), Allison Casto Huguley (Sam), Nathan Taylor (Cheyenne), John Paul Taylor (Elise), Kathryn Taylor Shoupe (Nick);  and nineteen great-grandchildren.
