Virginia Corrine Taylor, age 92, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2024. Corrine was born on August 24,1931 to Raymond and Gertrude Pugh of Anniston, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, John H. Taylor, Sr. Also preceding her in death were her siblings, Lillian Pugh Williams, Horace Raymond (Jack) Pugh, Jr., Herman Pugh, Larry Pugh and Don Pugh.
She is survived by her children, John Howard Taylor, Jr., Mobile, AL., Valerie Taylor Parrish (Austin) Spanish Ft.,AL. and Mark Raymond Taylor (Sabra) , Lake City, FL. She is also survived by grandchildren: Meredith (Josh) South, Stacy (James) Lewis, Andrew (Mary) Parrish, Mark (Morgan) Parrish, Michael (Liz) Parrish, Christy Taylor, Deliana Parker, Brock Dees and Sangia Slanker. Also, by six great-grandchildren: Layne Smith, Taylor Grace South, Breanne Lewis, Brooke Lewis, Ransom Parrish and Oliver Parrish.
Corrine and John were among the original members of University Church of Christ at Alpine Hills where she served as secretary for many years. She was much loved and respected by her children, grandchildren and members of her church family. She was known for her kindness, her servant's heart and faithfulness to God.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Brittany and Jennifer of Gentiva Hospice for their kind and respectful care of our mother during the days before her passing. Also, many thanks to Connie Vandenbosch, who originally came to clean house, but very generously stepped in to care for Mom when the need arose. Thank you to our friend, Jean Rowe, who responded to our need for help during the last several weeks of Mom's life. And to the whole church family at University Church, so much gratitude for all the meals, the prayers, the encouragement and love continuously shown to us.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 12 noon. The family will receive friends from 11am until service time Monday at the funeral home.
