Obituary for Ms Belinda Louise Roberts

February 22, 1958 - April 29, 2024
It is with great heartfelt sadness that the family of Belinda Louise Roberts announces her passing on April 29, 2024, at the age of 66 years old. She passed peacefully at her home of natural causes in her sleep. Belinda is preceded in death by her father, Gary Liston Roberts, and mother, Earline Pringle Roberts. She is survived by her brother Gary Paul Roberts (Linda), nephew Jonathan Paul Roberts (Tracy), nephew Michael Stephen Roberts, and niece Emily Louise Baxley (Andrew); great niece Olivia Louise Roberts, great nephew Dean Liston Roberts, and great niece Anna Catherine Roberts; her Uncle Ray Roberts of Raleigh, NC, her Uncle Fred Pringle of Jackson, AL, and numerous cousins. Belinda was born on February 22, 1958, in Mobile, AL, and lived in Mobile all her life. She attended Kate Shepherd Elementary, Azalea Road Middle, and Murphy High School. She graduated Murphy in 1976. She graduated from the University of Mobile in Summer of 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She worked as a Laboratory Chemist for many years in the Mobile area, including Barbers Dairy, Mobile Water, and M&T Chemicals. Later in life she also worked at Winn-Dixie and Barnett Millworks. Belinda loved music, quilting, and researching family genealogy; and spent many hours and hard work at her chosen hobbies. She was a member of a quilting group at Cottage Hill Baptist Church called “Sow & Sew”. She was also a member of the Bonnie Blue Flag 2124 UDC organization. She played clarinet, beginning in seventh grade at Azalea Road Middle School, continuing through Murphy High, and then continued to perform for almost another 50 years. She was a member of the Cottage Hill Baptist Church Orchestra and in most recent years Luke 4:18 Fellowship Orchestra, where she continued to play until her passing. She progressed from playing clarinet to also playing saxophone. She liked to describe herself as “honest, hardworking, and loved serving the Lord in music ministry”. Belinda was fortunate in being able to perform in the Tulip Time International Music Festival in Holland with the Murphy Symphonic Band in 1974, which won first place. The band was awarded a sterling silver treble clef on a marble base. Belinda, you will forever be missed by all of us, family, and friends. From those of us that you have temporarily left behind, “You Get to Hug Jesus First”. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. II Timothy 4:7
