Buddy Widener was a lifelong resident of Mobile. Buddy was a beloved husband, son, brother, uncle and grandfather 'Papa Buddy'. He was welcomed home by his Mother, Ann Widener, Grandparents AJ and Ceal Suraci and Elsie Widener, Father-in-Law, C. David McCann, Sr. and Mother-in-Law Theresa Pope McCann, his Niece Elizabeth Widener and Brother-in-Law C. David McCann, Jr. Buddy is survived by his Loving Wife Teresa McCann Widener, brother Joseph Widener, Sister-in-Law Meybi Widener, nephews Ian & Caleb Widener, nieces Alexis & Abby Widener, the children he treated as his own, Jeffrey David Johnson (Terri Johnson), Katie Norden (Troy Norden), Simon Downey (Daring Downey), Jonah Downey (Haley Downey), as well as 11 grandchildren who were consistently the apples of his eyes; Melody, Aiden, Emma, David, Matthew, Eric, Killian, EllieSue, Grayson, Kiefer and Mads. Also his Brother-in-Laws Dennis McCann & Daniel McCann, Sister-in-Laws Sharon August & Sandra Roberts. Buddy was retired from the US Army and a True Patriot. He was a valued friend and coworker of Mobile Aerospace for the last 28 years. A skilled airplane mechanic, and a master of more things than can be mentioned. He fiercely loved his family. He will be deeply missed and forever Loved.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 2pm. The family will receive friends from 1pm until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
