Ester Elaine Griffith Leonard was born on October 27, 1952 in Meridian, MS and a lifelong resident of Eight Mile, AL.
Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, James & Florence Griffith; her husband of almost 50 years Eugene Leonard; her son, Timothy Leonard; her brothers, Lester, George, Frankie, and Wayne (Gloria) Griffith, and a aunt Mae.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, a son, Gene (Jill) Leonard; her brothers, Kit (Heather) Griffith, Ronnie (Stephanie) Griffith; a sister in law, Sandra Griffith; her best friend, Debbie (Delbert) Burgard; her blessing daughter, Kelly (Mark) Johnson; her grands, Jordan, Kip, Maddox, many close cousins including a very dear one that she loved to make road trips with - Debbie (Davey) Holloman that helped her through her cancer journey, loving nieces and nephews and Noah her Shitzu.
She graduated Vigor High School class of 1970. After graduation she went on to the workforce for Blossom Gas and then went to Quinco until she retired in 2020.
She is now resting in the arms of Jesus longing to see his face, hearing the words “Well Done my Good and Faithful Servant”. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her, knew immediately that she loved Jesus and was a powerful prayer warrior. She treated everyone like family, and family was everything to her. She was a treasured and loved woman of God who helped everyone she could. She loved with her whole heart and gave her all. She fought so hard to get back on her feet until she was too weak to continue. A special thank you to her dedicated church family - Indian Springs Baptist, her Bunco sisters, amazing neighbors and friends, her class of 1970 girlfriend group and so many more.
