Melissa Pearman, resident of Coden, Alabama, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024 after a hard fought battle with cancer and other illnesses. She was born on May 23, 1960 and was the second daughter of Thomas H. and Elizabeth H. Murray. She attended Catholic schools in Mobile and Richmond VA, and graduated from McGill Toolen in 1978. She continued her education at the University of South Alabama and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.
Melissa was raised on the waters of the Mobile River Delta, and resided on Fowl River. She ran a successful specialty advertising business and later worked with Don in his business. She spent her time with her family on the river and their home was always open to extended family and friends, as well. They loved having cookouts and sharing their beautiful home and the river with them. She was a wonderful cook and her most sought after dishes included West Indies salad and stuffed shrimp and crab. Melissa had a lifelong passion for dogs and provided a home for many through the years. She loved them all, but her favorites were Keapher, Guinevere, and Penelope. Melissa is survived by her husband of 33 years, Don Pearman, her daughter and son in law Stephanie and Gary Luce, her daughter Melonie Rundberg, and her sister Libby (Mike) DeBrabant. She had three grandchildren: Emily Rundberg, Murray Goodman, and Lee Luce. She was preceded in death by her parents and her younger sister Teresa Ferrill. Funeral services for Melissa will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens on Saturday, September 21, 2024. Visitation will be at 10:00 am, followed by graveside services at 11:00 am.
