Donnie Wayne Curtis, a resident and native of Mobile, AL passed away December 16, 2024 at the age of 79.
Donnie leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Sonja Whitney Curtis; son, Blake Westbrook (Angelia) of Mobile; daughters, Amanda Rafada (Louie) of Mobile and Leslie Kyte (Keith) of Loxley; grandchildren, Daniel Westbrook (Traci), Anna McClain, Kylie McClain, Jackson Kyte, Reagan Kyte, and Curtis McClain; siblings, Gus Lea ( Olga) of Houston, Mary Schuerman (Sherm) of Daphne, Alice McRae of Mobile, and brother-in-law Gary Crigler.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mavis Skipper Curtis; father, Francis Curtis; sister, Debbie Curtis Crigler; brother, Melvin Curtis; and brother- in-law Ronnie McRae.
Donnie was a Theodore High School Graduate class of 1963. He was enlisted in the Army National Guard, employed with the city of Mobile Fire Department for 33 years, and employed with the History Museum of Mobile. Donnie was known for his love for people and Alabama football. His biggest love would have to be for his family. Nothing made him happier than a houseful of grandkids. In his younger years he spent a lot of time investing in the next generation. Whether it was on the baseball field with his son, or the softball field with his girls, he never missed a game or practice.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 20th at 12pm followed by funeral service at 2pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home 6040 Three Notch Rd Mobile, AL 36619. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

I work for Donnie at the History Museum of Mobile he was a kind man and always look out for the men that work for him.Donnie will be greatly missed RIP DONIE.
