James Lassiter

Reverend James "Colen" Lassiter, born on July 31, 1941, reached his ultimate goal of hearing the Lord say, "Well done, my son," on December 12, 2024. Colen gave his life to the Lord at the age of 19. He attended Southeastern Bible College where he met the love of his life, Carol. The two began to build his legacy. He was an evangelist for 3 years before beginning his pastoral ministry in five churches. He ministered and built churches all over the world. He had a true passion for missions, for spreading God's Word, and for leading people to everlasting life. He retired in 2008. He and Carol moved to Frisco, Texas, to be close to their grandchildren which he loved so much. He was preceded in death by two beautiful daughters, Audra Lassiter Burley and Angela Lassiter Eaton, as well as two brothers, Lonnie Lassiter, Jr., and Billy Lassiter, and his parents, Lonnie and Lula Lassiter. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carol Lassiter, of Frisco, Texas, his son, Philip (Josephine) Lassiter of the Netherlands, eight grandchildren which he adored, his brother, Joe Lassiter, of Chelsea, Alabama, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from Authentic Life Church at 12 noon. The family will receive friends from 10:30 am until service time Saturday at the church. Interment to follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
