Audrey was born in Riderwood, Alabama to Julius Chester and Bertie Mae Gavin Pippin. She was employed by the U.S. Air Force for twenty years as secretary to the Chief of Flight Operations. She was later employed by the Mobile County Board of School Commissioners from which she retired. Audrey was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild, Vestry, and was active in the Telephone Pioneers, Youth Baseball, NAIAD Temple DON, and other organizations for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband Earl Ellis Garner, her parents, a granddaughter, Danielle Renee Garner, Brothers Roy Wildon, Jack Willard, Julius Chester II, and Gabriel C. Pippin.
Audrey is survived by her children, Julie Alene Garner of Fairhope, Alabama; Steven and Janice Garner of Fairhope, Alabama, and Jeffery and Angela Garner of Gulf Shores, Alabama. Grandchildren and their families; Ellis Eugene and Crystal Garner, Claire and Caleb Garner, and Lilly and Carter Camp. Paul and Alexandra Garner, Mason, Nathan, Colin, and Sophia Garner of Mandeville, LA. Lindsay and Ben Gentle, Aaron and Victoria Sears of Gulf Shores, Alabama. Amanda, Liam, and Mackenzie Dudeck of Daphne, Alabama. Chad, Ashleigh, and Bennett Files of Mobile, Alabama. My very dear and forever friend, Thelma Lomers.
The service will be held from St. John's Episcopal Church on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at 3pm. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens at a later date. The Reverend John Talbert will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be make to St. John's Episcopal Church in Mobile.
