Jimmy Paul Farmer – a native of Villa Rica, Georgia and a longtime resident of Saraland, Alabama died Thursday, May 22, 2025 at his residence. Mr. Farmer was a longtime faithful member of Calvary Temple in Saraland, enjoyed yard work and tinkering with his hot rod truck. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and retired as a Captain from the Mobile Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Melvin Farmer and Pearl Lee Cain Farmer; two children, Paula J. Brightwell and Darrell D. Farmer; one brother, Melvin L. Farmer; one sister, Betty Farmer Fowler; and his faithful dog, Buddy. Survivors include his loving companion, Christy Whatley; three children, Deborah D. Allaire, Kathryn E. Henderson, and Randall P. Farmer; one brother, Kenneth D. Farmer; eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Ascension Funeral Home, 1016 Hillcrest Road, Mobile, Alabama 36695. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. from the chapel of Ascension Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Perry officiating. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
