Geraldine "Gerry" Dungan, age 92, of San Antonio, Texas entered the Gates of Heaven on Monday, April 28, 2025 surrounded by her family. Gerry was a loving mother, dedicated worker, and master gardener. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert “Bobby” Tillman; her second husband, Arlin “Al” Dungan; and her parents, Sylvester and Claire Domen. Gerry is lovingly remembered by her children, Pamela Kaye Tillman, Yvonne Gayle George, Tara Marie Dungan, Rex Neil Dungan and Terry Rue Dungan. Gerry also leaves behind many grandchildren whom she adored and loved. She took immense pride in raising her five children, often shouldering the responsibilities on her own with strength and grace. Born and received her high school diploma in Cleveland, Ohio. After raising her five children, had a remarkable career starting with Mountain Bell as one of their first switchboard operators. Her career grew alongside the telecommunications industry, and she eventually transitioned into computer operations, retiring from AT&T after a lifetime of service and dedication. Outside of work, Gerry found joy in cultivating beauty from the earth. A master gardener with a particular gift for growing roses, her garden was always full of life and color. She also enjoyed bowling and was an active member of a bowling group in Metairie, Louisiana, where she shared laughter and camaraderie with friends. Gerry will be remembered most for her sharp wit and sarcasm—always ready with something funny to say. Her encouraging spirit lifted those around her, and she had a special gift for inspiring young women to believe in themselves and pursue what once felt impossible. Through her humor, strength, and unwavering belief in others, she left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Gerry’s warmth, resilience, and generous spirit will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved her.
