Jacquelyn Marie Wingfield, a native of Mobile, Alabama, entered into eternal rest on October 7, 2025 surrounded by family. Jacquelyn was born on February 21, 1949 to the late Fred Gussie Lee Baker and Marie Blackledge. She was a 1967 graduate of Williamson High School.  Jacquelyn continued her education at Bishop State Community College and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. She was a cherished family member, devoted nurse and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She always loved to share her fondest memories of growing up “Down the Bay”. Jacquelyn lived a life dedicated to service, compassion and community. She was preceded in death by her parents: Fred Gussie Lee Baker and Marie Blackledge; sister, Marion Reynolds; mother-in-law, Annie Bell Bates; brothers-in-law: Ronnie Bates and Donnie Bates; nieces: Debra Black and Caroyln Hunter and nephew, Samuel Roberts. Jacquelyn leaves to cherish her loving memories: husband, Elbert Wingfield; two loving and caring sons: Darnell (Odessa) Wingfield and Jarret (Danielle) Wingfield; brother, Robert Jordan; grandchildren: Darnell Wingfield, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA, Laparis Wingfield, Darnell Striverson and Jamar McKay all of Mobile, Alabama; great grandchildren; aunt, Iva May Miller of Vallejo, CA; two brothers-in-law: Michael (Roxanne) Bates and Karl Bates, all of Mobile, AL; sisters-in-love, Hattie Wheat and Judith Tyree both of Mobile, AL and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her love extended beyond people, Jacquelyn was a devoted “pet mom” to her beloved companions: Bonnie, Banx, Storm and Brick. Jacquelyn’s kindness, quiet strength and boundless compassion will never be forgotten.
