Minnie Gayle Cochran passed away on January 23rd, 2026. Born on August 1st, 1956, Memaw was blessed to spend 69 years loving her family here on earth. Her time was primarily spent in Theodore, Alabama in the loving company of her family and friends. As a young woman she graduated from Faith Academy in 1974 and later on went to attend Bishop State Community College. The skills she acquired throughout her education inspired her to, among other things, become a Floral Manager, an Insurance Adjuster, and a Hospitality Coordinator in service at her church, Rise. She was blessed to meet the love of her life so close to home in the small town of Saraland, Alabama. She married Troy Cochran on July 7th, 2007 and loved him until the her last breath. She shared many of her journeys alongside Troy. She had many hobbies but chief among them were baking, shopping, reading, and traveling. They visited remote regions of Alaska, the Gysers of Yellowstone, and the Beaches of Maui. Preceded in death by her parents, Annie Doris Criswell Flowers and Rutledge F. Flowers, Sr.; her siblings, Rutledge "Bubba" F. Flowers, Jr., and Lynda Faye Cameron; and the father of her two children, Van Irvin Johnson. Survived by her husband, Troy Cochran; her children, Yolonda (Scott) Houle and Dustin (Dallas) Johnson; her grandchildren, Zac (Megan) Houle, Alex (Emily) Houle, Breanna "Gale" Houle, and Delcie Johnson; her great-grandchildren, Blake and Ella; her sister, Jeanette Winfield (David) Miller; and a whole heap of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 12 Noon. The family will receive friends from 10am until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

  1. Mini Gayle alway had such a twinkle in her eyes!! A big smile to go with it. She Was a good friend to many of us at Faith Academy. Even though she was in the class under us, she organized and got both 73+74 classes together for a couple reunions. I haven’t seen her in 20+years….thankful for Face Book!!
    It’s so nice to see that she was so loved by her church family. May
