Franklin Eugene Pierce, age 81 and a resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on February 26, 2026. Born on December 4, 1944, Frank was a graduate of Murphy High School and continued his education at Faulkner University, Business Administration. He later met the love of his life, Rhonda Carl Pierce, with whom he shared 35 wonderful years of marriage and friendship. Together, they found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from peaceful days at the beach to their shared a passion for Jesus Christ.
A hardworking man of character, Frank dedicated much of his life to public service. He served as a Sheriff's Deputy and later retired from Alabama Power after 32 years. A proud veteran, he served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart and other distinguished medals for his bravery.
Following his naval service, Frank returned home and joined the Alabama Army National Guard. Serving in the Signal Section, he rose steadily through the ranks. After qualifying for and completing First Sergeant School, he took command as the First Sergeant for HHC 711th Signal Battalion. Following his tour as First Sergeant, he converted back to Master Sergeant and completed his distinguished military career with the 226th Headquarters. He served a total of 32 years.
In his free time, Frank was a vibrant member of the Mobile community. He served as the Head Marshal of the Conde Cavaliers and he helped start the organization. He had a deep love for the water and could often be found sailing with is wife; in his later years, he also developed a passion for metal detecting. He also spent time at the ball field as the president of the little league team. Above all, he loved his wife for 35 years and cherished every moment spent with his family, who will miss him dearly.
Frank was preceded in death by his mother-in-law who treated him like a mother; Virginia Carl, as well as many beloved former shipmates and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda Carl Pierce; his daughter, Chasity Veazey; his son, Brad Veazey granddaughter, Mallarie Weeks, and Ella Veazey; grandsons; William Veazey and Jacob Veazey; great-grandchildren, Aunystee Weeks and Haylo Weeks; and a host of other relatives and many dear friends
