Don Arnette, a proud son of Mobile County and longtime resident of Saraland, Alabama, passed away on Friday March 13th surrounded by his loving family. Raised in Prichard, Don carried deep pride in his roots throughout his life. He graduated from Vigor High School, and the friendships formed during those years remained the closest to his heart. Don spent his entire working career at Scott Paper Company, where he served as a supervisor. Alongside his beloved wife, Gaye he faithfully served at College Park Baptist Church, where their shared commitment to their church family reflected the love and generosity that defined his life. Above all else, Don loved his family. His grandchildren were his greatest pride and joy, and nothing made him happier than them. Don was a social man who rarely met a stranger. Conversations came easily to him, and he had a natural warmth that made people feel welcome. He also believed he had a pretty good sense of humor and he wasn’t shy about proving it. Don was an avid coin collector, a hobby he pursued with enthusiasm. He enjoyed watching classic westerns, listening to Southern gospel music, shopping at Walmart, and going out to eat with his wife. While the beach was never quite his favorite place, it was certainly hers, and because of that he faithfully packed up and spent weeks there every summer. Don loved the people in his life in every way he knew how, giving what he had with generosity and sincerity. He cared deeply for others and was always willing to help where he could. The love he gave was unique and irreplaceable, and the absence he leaves will be deeply felt by those close to him. It is only fitting that his life be celebrated in Saraland, among the community and people he loved so dearly. He is survived by his wife Gaye, brother Ted, children Ashley and Allen, daughter in law Tracey, grandchildren, Allison, Avery, Emily, Caden, Jacob and Zac. As well as his 3 great grandchildren, Brantley, Elena and Emmett.

A visitation for Don will be held March 21, 2026 at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland, Alabama at 12pm followed by the funeral service at 1pm. The graveside would be private.
