Kim Kathleen Richardson, 68, a beloved sister, mother, and grandmother, passed away on May 5, 2026, in the comfort of her childhood home in Mobile, Alabama, surrounded by family and loved ones. Born on January 23, 1959, in Dover, Delaware, Kim’s life was a testament to dedication, resilience, and unconditional love. Kim was a woman known for her strength, dedication, and steady work ethic. For nearly 50 years, she worked as a contractor, building a successful business through her determination and skill. She wasn’t afraid to try new things, and no job was ever too hard for her to take on. She took great pride in her craft and in mentoring others, generously sharing her knowledge and experience, and leaving a lasting impact on those who had the privilege to learn from her. Kim’s love for her family, fishing, and The Boats was obvious to all who knew her. She found joy in traveling, especially to the beach, and had a deep appreciation for old movies and live plays. Old-fashioned at heart, Kim preferred the simple things in life. She had a generous heart, always finding joy in feeding others, helping those in need, and making sure everyone around her felt cared for and welcome. She valued meaningful conversations, cherished traditions, and created lasting memories with those she loved. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Dorothy Ilma Remick; father, James Douglas Richardson; stepfather, Colby Edward Remick; brother, John Douglas Richardson; sister-in-law, Carol B. Richardson; and niece, Jennifer Dawn Weinacker. She is survived by her son, Wesley Payton Horn, and daughter, Elizabeth Nicole Charest; brother, James Robert Richardson; sister, Lee R. Bosarge (Robert A. Bosarge); sister, Carol A. Little (Ian Little); brother, Dean Michael Richardson (Paula Richardson); sister, Judy French (Allen French); brother, Mark Edward Remick (Mona Remick); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Cottage Hill Memorial Funeral Home, 11:00 a.m., followed by a burial ceremony at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
