Jimmy Dale Dickerson, age 85, resident of Theodore, Al. Was born on August 28, 1940 in Philadelphia, Mississippi & passed May 31, 2026. Jimmy was a high school graduate of Alba High School where he played football & was offered a scholarship but decided to enlist in the Army to serve his country. After returning to citizen life, Jimmy became a welder for many years. He enjoyed fishing, creating a garden & spending time with family & friends. If you knew Jimmy (JD), you knew you could probably catch him singing a part of Pretty Papers Christmas song. "Pretty Papers, Pretty Ribbons of Blue" was his favorite part to sing. He could also yodel a little bit, and at the end of his life, his nurses found that interesting and some would even try to yodel with him. He loved his family very much & will be truly missed. Jimmy is preceded in death by his mother, Viola Dickerson & his father, Donnie Dickerson. Brothers- Bobby, Luey, & O.D. Sisters-Irene, Jean, & Sue. He is survived by his daughter Tonya Schuettner & husband Rick Schuettner, grandson Brandon Parks, Sisters; Annyce Browning (Jim Browning), Betty Brown (Wayne Brown), Kathy Wilbourne, & sister-in-law Mildred Dickerson. Along with many nieces, nephews & good friends. Pallbearers: Brandon Parks, Jimmy Roebuck, Mark Dickerson, Rick Schuettner, Sean Brai. Jimmy's funeral service will be held on June 5, 2026, at 10 AM at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service on June 5, 2026, from 9-10AM at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
