Agnes Goff - Mobile Memorial Gardens

Agnes Goff

September 18, 1933 – January 29, 2025
Mildred "Agnes" Goff, 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. Born on September 18, 1933, in Tanner Williams, Agnes made Theodore her family home. A devoted wife and mother, she was the heart and soul of her family. Agnes's joy was rooted in her love for God and family. She was a talented pianist who played Christian hymns for family and friends. Agnes was a soft-spoken lady who could belt out a gospel song. She and her late husband Robert, along with some of their children, formed a gospel-singing group who shared their music on many stages as part of their ministry. An active member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Agnes attended Sunday School classes and worship services throughout her life. Sunday dinners were a special treat for her family; Agnes was an excellent cook, and her homemade gumbo was a family favorite. Agnes enjoyed celebrating holidays and birthdays with her family and was sure to call each of them to start the day singing a lively "Happy Birthday." She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, nurturing them, ever present in their lives. The addition of great grandchildren grew her family circle ever wider. Agnes had an affinity for the retail world, for fashion, and for all things purple. Her hair truly was her crowning glory, a styled vision in white. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Robert Carl Goff; grandsons, Jeremy Johnston and Jeff Maples; parents, Dewitt and Iva (Pierce) Driskell; brothers, Bertran Driskell, Ralph Driskell, Murray Driskell, Linwood Driskell, Allen Driskell, and Blake Driskell; and sisters, Unavay Byrd, Lois Pierce, and Betty Vickery. She is survived by her sons, Brad (Sherry) Goff; Gary (Linda) Goff; and Greg (Tammy) Goff; and daughter, Gina (Derry) Johnston; grandchildren, Christina Johnston, Angela Sapa, Amber Walker, Brandy Parnell, Candice Goff, Hunter Goff, Cody Goff, Chad Henderson, Robby Goff, and Blake Goff; brothers, Everett Driskell and Basil Driskell; sister, Julette Smith; and a host of great grandchildren and other relatives. Agnes will be remembered and missed by all who loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Radney Funeral Home at 3155 Dauphin St., Mobile, AL 36606. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., immediately followed by the funeral service in the chapel. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens at 6100 Three Notch Rd., Mobile, AL 36619. A reception will follow at Cedar Grove Baptist Church at 8280 Old Pascagoula Rd., Theodore, AL 36582.
