Alvin Charles Barth passed away on April 12, 2026, at his home in Mobile, Alabama, surrounded by loving family. He was 89 years old.
Alvin was born on December 13, 1936, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Albert Thomas and Marguerite Barth. He grew up in Louisville, where he graduated from St. Xavier High School in 1955 and started his lifelong career in printing and sales. In 1959 he married Dolores Ann Dumeyer. They moved to Mobile, Alabama in 1969. Alvin was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council 4888, and several other organizations. He enjoyed sports, going to the beach, socializing with friends, and raising his three boys.
Alvin is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Albert Thomas Barth, Jr. his sister, Sr. Mary Quintin, SRM, and his son, Marshall Thomas Barth.
Alvin is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dolores Ann Barth, his children, Robert Joseph Barth (Ellen), and Richard Allen Barth (Renee). His three grandchildren, Lauren Barth, Audrey Barth Nour (Diaa), and James Barth, and his two great grandchildren, Jonah and Sage Winek.

A visitation will be held at Holy Family Church, 1400 Joyce Rd, Mobile, AL 36618, on April 17, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. The Committal Service will take place at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 6100 Three Notch Rd, Mobile, AL 36619.
