Angela S. Allison, a long-time resident of Mobile, Alabama, went to be with her dear Lord and Savior on April 11, 2024, at the age of 94.
Angela was born on August 7, 1929, in Wilmer, Alabama, to Mr. & Mrs. Leroy Sheldt. She was a graduate of Semmes High School and was voted "Gleam Girl" by her classmates. She married James LaRue Allison, Sr., in 1948.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Reverend James Allison, her son, Chris Allison, her parents and many of her siblings.
She is survived by her sisters, Mary Stringer and Bobby Clark; her children, Debbie (Bob) Robbins, LaRue (LeeAnn) Allison, Scott (Linda) Allison and Lori Metzger; her grandchildren, Marie (Tommy) Reynoso, Angie (Taylor) Morgan, Kim (Jon) DeHart, Erica Edmonds, Elisha (Steve) Fox, Brittany (Anthony) Johnson, Austin Allison, Lindy (Shane) Cowart, Kristin (Shawn) Roehl, Eden (Rob) Dunbar and Mary Kathryn Metzger; as well as many great and great-great grands.
Angela was known by most as Mamaw. She was the most amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and even great-great grandmother to many. She loved Jesus and her family, and served both well.
You could catch her watching the old Gaither music videos on any given day of the week; she loved to play their music loud and worship along with them.
Over the years, she opened her home to countless numbers of people, as she served as a faithful wife in ministry with her late husband, Reverend James Allison.
She was the perfect combination of sweet and sassy. She loved crossword puzzles and a good Bible-reading plan. She lived a long life full of love and laughter. Her love was stronger than most and she had the true heart of a servant.
She will be dearly missed by the many people that loved her so much, but her legacy of loving Jesus will live on in the lives of her family and in the lives of all those that she touched. Until we meet again, we will always carry her in our hearts.Pallbearers are Shane Cowart, Shawn Roehl, Matthias Colomb, Austin Allison, Lawson Morgan and Jonathan DeHart; Honorary Pallbearers Noah Metzger and Nate Bundy.
