Angelo C. Harris, Jr. – a 92 year-old native and resident of Mobile passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2020. Mr. Harris was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy and retired from the United States Postal Service after many years of service. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan and enjoyed bowling and working in his yard. Mr. Harris was a longtime parishioner of Little Flower Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Angelo C. Harris, Sr. and Ruby Brown Harris; first wife, Lillian Heiter Harris; second wife, Joyce Stokes Harris; and son, Angelo C. Harris, III. Mr. Harris is survived by two daughters, Theresa Harris Haughery (Read) and Janet Harris Rushing (Clay); daughter-in-law, Sandy Curry Harris; five grandchildren, Justin McDonough (Heather), Erin Gavin (Russ), Kevin McDonough (Tara), Jenny Sechler (Brent), and Adam Harris (Alicia); nine great-grandchildren, Sean and Robin McDonough, Maddie and Lilly Harris, James, Jack, Jonah, and Joy Gavin, and Valerie McDonough; brother, Joel Harris (Barbara); and sister, Carol Sellew (Ted). The family would like to offer a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Elmcroft Senior Living for all of their compassionate care and service. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Little Flower Catholic Church on Monday, January 27, 2020 at 11 a.m. with Reverend John Lynes serving as Celebrant. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Little Flower Catholic Church, 2053 Government Street, Mobile, Alabama 36606.
