Ann Marie Boheler Roberts, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 6, 2021. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Gene Walton Roberts in 2009, her parents Clyde and Sophie Boheler, of Savanah, GA and her mother’s twin sister and name sake, Aunt Sudie (Sister Ann Marie). Ann leaves behind her brother, Clyde Boheler, Jr of Savanah, GA; daughter Jennifer (James) Hightower and two grandchildren, Bo Grafton Hightower and Emily Catherine Hightower of Mobile, AL; nieces, cousins, friends, and caregivers that loved her and will truly miss her. Ann was competitive all her life, from her high school days at Savanah High School, selling enough phonograph records to win a date with Elvis Presley, to winning a scholarship to the prestigious Columbia Nursing school on Staten Island in New York, to achieving a Gold Life Master at Duplicate Bridge. Ann worked as an RN for over 50 years specializing in the mental health field, working primarily at Providence Hospital and Charter Hospital in Mobile, AL. Ann was an avid Duplicate Bridge player attaining the rank of Gold Life Master and becoming one of the top players in the country. She taught, tutored, and played locally and in ACBL tournaments across the country. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the loving care of her dedicated caregivers. Visitation will be Saturday February 13, 2021 from 10 – 12 p.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Mobile, AL with church service at noon. The Interment service will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens, in Mobile, AL, immediately following the services.
