Audrey Clark Franklin, a 94 year old native of Covington County, AL. and a long time resident of Chickasaw, AL and a current resident of Spanish Fort, AL passed away March 2, 2022. Mrs. Franklin graduated valedictorian from Rawls High School in 1946. She was also a graduate of Draughon Business College in Birmingham, AL. Mrs. Franklin worked for the Chickasaw Housing Authority for 35 years and retired in 1998 as the Executive Director. Among Mrs. Franklin professional affiliations, she served on the advisory council for the Department of Housing and Urban Development; as well as, vice president and president of the Alabama Association of Housing and Redevelopment Authorities; and she is listed in the “Who’s Who Registry of Business Leaders.”
While a resident of Chickasaw she was very active in the community where she was a member of the Chickasaw Women’s Club; the Chickasaw Garden Club; the Shearer Chapter #517 Order of Eastern Star; and various other civic organizations. She was also, a member of Chickasaw First Baptist Church for over 63 years where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the choir. She was currently a member of East Pointe Baptist Church in Spanish Fort for over 8 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Trammel J. Franklin (d. 2013); survived by her two loving daughters Martha Jo (Franklin) Andrews (Andy d. 2013), Orange Beach, AL; and Marilyn J. Franklin, Houston, TX.; her sister Jane Clark Walters (George), Clearwater, FL; and four grand-children; Traci Andrews, Mobile, AL; Greg Andrews, Bay Minette, AL; Wayne Thomas (Kathleen), Houston, TX; Savannah Thomas, Houston, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Wayne Thomas and Greg Andrews; granddaughters, Traci Andrews and Savannah Thomas; nephews Sam Bejaoui, George Walters, Jr. and Albert (Rev) Reville, Jr. and Maurice E. ‘Buddy’ Perkins.
Honorary Pallbears are brother-in-law, George Walters, nephews, Jerry Chance, and Frank Lord, and friends, Richard Cox, Bob Nelson, and David M. Huggins.

Visitation will be held from 12N-2PM, Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Radney Funeral Home; 3155 Dauphin St., Mobile, AL, with services following at 2PM. Interment will follow at the Mobile Memorial Gardens.
