Barbara Dean Hervet - Mobile Memorial Gardens

Barbara “Bobbie” Welch Hervet, native and lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert A. Hervet; her parents, Murdock Fountain and Jewel Shofner Welch; her brothers, ralph Fountain Welch and Charlie Welch. Survived by daughters, Toni (Jeff) Marcus and Kim (Bill) MacWilliam; five grandchildren, Dr. Logan Paul (Carrie) Marcus, Lauren (Gabe) Hasser, Riley, Gavin and Colin MacWilliam; three great grandchildren, Cohen and Avery Marcus and Gemma Hasser. Bobbie attended the Alabama State College for Women (University of Montevallo), worked at Brookley AFB where she met the love of her life, Herb, who was stationed at Brookley and assigned to her office. They worked side by side until his discharge and married one year later. She retired from the Alabama State Docks Accounting Department. She was an active member of the St. John United Methodist Church where she was a long-time member of the choir, she served on the Administrative Board, The Altar Guild and other committees. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren and following their activities and competitions across the country, whether local, state, or national, rarely missing one regardless of the distance. She especially loved watching her granddaughter Lauren’s Nutcracker performances every year in Atlanta and her dance recitals and competitions. Bobbie loved music of all genres, from classical to bluegrass, cooking for family and friends, entertaining, gardening, decorations, bargain shopping and cruising with Herb, especially on the ones he would organize for friends from all over. Bobbie's one regret and disappointment…. Her cardiologist refused to approve her request a few years ago to go SKYDIVING!!!
