He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera, and son, Clyde.
Ben is survived by his two daughters, Bennie Thomas and ReJeana Turner; Daughter-in-law Brenda McKenzie; six grandchildren Melani Thomas, Jesse Thomas, Troy (Leigh) Turner, Tammy (Woodie) Bryant, Keith McKenzie, and Brett (Ginny) Turner; twelve great-grandchildren; his "Granddog" Jag, and other nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Ben served his country during WWII as an Army Corporal in the military police battalion and supervisor at Radcliffe Materials/Dravo Industry. He loved to hunt and fish, but most of all, follow his grandchildren playing sports. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of William F. Green Veterans Home for taking exceptional care of our loved one.
A graveside service for Ben will be held Friday, March 21, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 6100 Three Notch Road, Mobile, AL 36619.
