Betty Taylor Bryars Born June 1, 1940 Died January 31, 2024 Betty Taylor Bryars was born in Sulligent, Alabama to Cecil and Edna Taylor. She graduated from Murphy High School and married David E. Bryars, Sr. on April 24, 1959. Betty passed away surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, David, children Barbara Middleton (Mike), David Bryars, Jr (Shana), Lynne Tedder (Jeffrey), and Jason Bryars (Stephanie). Brothers John Taylor (Wanda) and Rickey Taylor (Michelle). Betty had ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She had many nieces and nephews. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Edna Taylor. Her sister Faye T. Husby, her brother Coy Taylor, nephews Leroy Husby and Richard Taylor. Betty retired from the Corps of Engineers where she worked for 38 years. Betty taught Sunday school for over 20 years. Sundays were always a family day. There was usually always a friend of one of the kids coming home after church for the afternoon. She always cooked Sunday lunch and made the best cornbread ever. Betty enjoyed putting up summer vegetables that David was very well known for growing. Betty was asked at every event to bake her famous pound cake. The family decided to share her recipe with you today. The family would like to thank the sitters who helped the family during this time. Kristina, Sharlene, Taylor and Jennifer your tireless efforts will forever be appreciated.

Funeral services will held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 12pm. Visitation will be 11am until service Friday at the funeral home.
