Betty Gillman, born September 10 1947, in Mobile Alabama was the first born to the late Glady's and Q.P. Carlisle. Betty had one brother Buddy Carlisle, who passed 8 yrs ago, and left behind a loving wife, Peggy Carlisle and daughter Melissa. She is also survived by her sister, Judy F. Hughes and her brother-in- law, James Hughes. Betty was blessed with one daughter Dana Zehner Hamilton, who resides in Texas with her husband, Charlie Hamilton. Betty's life was always centered around her family, especially her grandkids. Because of them, Betty showed her special smile. Tina, Paul, Makayla, and Quinton were the first generation of grandkids that stole Betty's heart. Then, along came the next generation of grandkids (11 for now) that stole the show and continued filling Betty's heart with their love. Betty's life for the past decade was a constant battle with cancer, and through it all, she kept her faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Betty won! Betty will be missed by all her loving friends and relatives. Saying good-bye is hard for everyone, but she is starting her new life, which is eternal, in the presence of our Mighty God. This assurance gives us hope that we will see one another again. Betty's better day has come!

The family will receive friends from 1pm until the 2pm Funeral Service on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Couey officiating. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
