Bobby Gene Langley, age 86, resident of Mobile Alabama, died at home January 21, 2026. Bobby was Born March 28, 1939 in Darlington, SC. He joined, and served in the South Carolina National Guard from 1954-1956. Bobby then enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country until his retirement in 1977 with the rank of CWO-3. Bobby went on to seek employment with Ingalls Shipbuilding in 1981 and retired from there in 2001. He was married from 1958-1976 to Emily Rae Nix, also of Darlington, and they had 2 daughters together. Bobby married Wanda Usher in 1987. They built an amazing life together in Mobile until her death in 2025. He never lost his love of knowledge, history, movies and reading. Nor did he ever lose his love of the sea and fresh salt air. He completed one last cruise just prior to his death and was actually looking forward to many more. Bobby is Preceded in death by his wife Wanda Langley, parents Gary and Thelma Langley, brother Jimmy Langley, sisters Louise (Dee Dee) Norwood, Brenda Blackmon and Barbara Pittman. He is Survived by his daughters Debbie (Robin) Lewis, Donna Langley-Yarborough, Step son Randy (Nancy) Sparks, grandsons Blake (Cameron Watson) Langley, Zac Langley-Yarborough, granddaughters Sloan (Jonathan) Campbell, Alex (Gideon) Akinsola, 8 great grandchildren siblings are Wayne (Joan) Langley of New Jersey , Rodney (Cathy) Heyward, Sara Davis, Jerry Langley, Terry ( Mary Lynn) Langley, Marilyn Langley Truett and Carolyn Langley all of Darlington. Thanks to his primary caretakers, Blake and Cameron, Bobby enjoyed living at home until his passing.

Funeral services will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens February 12,2026 at 10am and the family will receive guests from 9:30-10am prior to the service.
