Bobby Lee Smith, age 85, resident of Loxley, AL and formerly of Saraland, AL, passed away at his home on Thursday, April 29, 2021. He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Joyce Wilkes Smith, parents, Nathan H. and Margie Saucier Smith, and five brothers.Mr. Smith retired after 40 years as a process manager with International Paper Company. He was a faithful member of Wilson Avenue Baptist Church for over 30 years. He taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, was a member of the Jolly Christians and truly loved his church and church family. One of the greatest honors that he and his wife shared over the years, was being able to entertain pastors, evangelists, missionaries and gospel singing groups traveling through the area a place to rest and relax during their travels. It was their way of furthering the Gospel of Christ. He and Joyce also enjoyed travelling and enjoyed visiting with friends in Gatlinburg and Alaska over their years together. He loved spending family time, especially with his grandchildren.Bobby is survived by his loving children, David Randall Smith (Judi) and Recia Crocker (Pete) and grandchildren Rachel Pierce (Will) and Olivia Crocker, step-grandchildren; Dallas Sard, Tyler Sard, Katie Sard, Mattie Spann, Ryleigh Spann, Colton Spann and Jordan Spann. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other
family.Visitation will be held at Wilson Avenue Baptist Church, Saraland, AL on Monday, May 3, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens, Mobile, AL.
