Carlos V. Espinosa, born in Guanabacoa, Cuba on July 26, 1941, passed away July 17, 2022, at Springhill Memorial Hospital. He was 80 years old. His first-born son, Carlitos, as he is affectionately known, was by his side. Carlos called Mobile his home after coming from Cuba in 1971 by way of Spain and California. The life experiences he shared with people should be in a history book. Carlos wanted to make sure people knew what the United States meant to him and the opportunities that American citizens have and should be appreciated. The day he became an American citizen was one of the proudest days in his life. His life was dedicated to making sure his family was taken care of and safe. When he retired from his job as Vice President of Ocal, and electrical conduit manufacturing facility which originated in Van Nuys, California he returned to his roots of farming and working with his favorite type of animal-goats at the family farm in Mobile. His grandchildren were his greatest love and enjoyed seeing them when they visited him.
Carlos is survived by Lucrecia Espinosa and were together for 63 years. He was preceded in death by both his parents, Secundino and Juana Espinosa. Carlos' children will cherish the memories they have of their father. Carlos Rafael, the oldest, known as Carlitos to many, Orestes Jose, the middle son, and Barbara, the youngest daughter will miss their father.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 9:00-10:00 on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Mobile Memorial Gardens on Three Notch Road in Mobile, Alabama. Mass and graveside services will follow afterwards.
