Carmen Lai, 91, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away October 19, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She joined her loving husband of 71 years, Pierre Lai and was the last surviving of her siblings. Native of Marseille, France; Carmen left France March of 1956 and settled in Mobile, AL where she raised her family and pursued her career as a decorator and seamstress.
She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Lai (William, Jr.) Harbour and Diane Lai (Wade Dean); four grandchildren, William "Tommy" Harbour III (Kelli Byers), Carmen Harbour (Kyle) Taylor, Jon Harbour and Eric Cleveland (Brandi DePineuil). One great grandson Lucian DePineuil and one great granddaughter Selene Taylor; as well as nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends in the United States as well as France.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home – 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
